I have been active in: American Association of University Women (editor of award-winning newsletter, Athena) Young Republicans (toastmistress, hostess, and fund-raiser) Toastmasters (first female President in the oldest continuing Toastmasters' club, Club 5, Santa Barbara, established in 1910) Coaching youngsters for public speaking competitions with Lions and Optimists. Advisor for school newspapers (elementary and high school) started by three of my kids, whose gene pool made itself felt. |

Mother, wife, and mentor, sometime single parent, now widowed. Children are grown. Pastimes: Sking, Horseback Riding, Swimming, Tapestry work, Cooking (but not bread, cookies, or cakes), Bridge, and Serious Spades, Music (but not screaming falsettos) More than a Pastime: Voracious Reading |
